Elias Silva was able to build a successful career in Facility Management, and he eventually was able to open his own business in 2015, Royal House Management, LLC.
Unfortunately, his life was turned upside down on Sept. 22 of 2015 when his son Lucas died unexpectedly, fortunately Gabriel the twin brother survived, but he was fighting for his life under intensive care. In order to prevent further disaster due to postpartum depression, PTSD, anxiety and psychosis Elias was forced to shut down his business operations indefinitely, to manage the most difficult project of his life, his own family. After many months of unsuccessful mental health treatments his family’s mental health conditions continued to deteriorate. And while researching about treatments for trauma he came across an article about massage therapy treatment for soldiers with PTSD. Elias continued to research about the healing powers of massage therapy, and he also discovered that massage therapy was also proven very effective to treat postpartum depression, anxiety, and many other mental health disorders. Then he stated looking for massage therapy school in his area, in which he could take some classes, and eventually found the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Westport CT. Elias put his career as side, and he enrolled in a nine months expedited program, and he studied during the day, and he worked night shifts as a waiter to help pay the bills, and he also helped to raise his son. Soon after he started his training, he started feeling, and noticing the results in his family, which was being healed through massage therapy, combined with faith. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to help his former wife much further because of other underling mental health issues that got in the way of the treatment. However, he believes that he was able to prevent further disasters, and he was also able to save his son’s life from further damages, and to heal him from his traumatic birth. Since he graduated in 2017 Elias has been able to help hundreds of people with various types of mental, and physical health disorders, such as; PTSD, anxiety, postpartum depression, suicide, substance addiction, grief, stress, chronic pain syndrome, sciatica, cancer, ALS, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, kyphosis, pitiformis syndrome, and TOS. He believes that massage therapy is undervalued, and underfunded. And that ignorance plays a major role in limiting the healing contribution that massage therapy can have in men, women, and children in our communities today. And part of his job is to educate people about massage therapy, and to promote massage therapy as a career, and to break the stereotype, and the taboo that our society has created about human interaction through touch.
